The Hudson Valley Region of the American Cancer Society is hosting its 20th annual Step Into Spring Fashion Show at Anthony’s Pier 9 in New Windsor, NY. This county-wide event will feature breast cancer survivors on the catwalk and funds raised from the fashion show support breast cancer awareness, life-saving research and local services to breast cancer patients living in the Hudson Valley. The event includes dinner, a silent auction and a pre-event restaurant raffle where 3 winners have the opportunity to win meals at various regional restaurants. Founding committee member and cancer survivor, Joan Pagones, will be the guest speaker. Tickets are available and may be purchased by calling 845.440.2520.

Every Monday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. there will be a free math tutoring session at the Platekill Reformed Church. All grade levels through graduate school are eligible to attend.

Jesse A. Saperstein is a best-selling author, autism advocate and motivational speaker. He’s a respected leader in the anti-bullying movement of his generation. Jesse has a form of Autism called Asperger’s Syndrome. He has written a book about his life called “Atypical: Life with Asperger’s in 20 1/3 Chapters.”
Jesse will address the Boy Scouts as well as community members about raising awareness regarding individuals with invisible disabilities and the difficulties they may face. An enjoyable and informational evening.
