Hero or Host? Leading to Launch! This theme of the March 11th Pastor’s and Leaders Conference at Davis College will cover such topics as: “How do we create an environment where new people truly feel welcome – more than simply greeted?”, “How do we nurture a sense of ‘belonging’ in our churches?”, “The Exodus of 18-30 year olds from God”, “Leadership Development”, and a session on the importance of expositional teaching and preaching will also be presented. This is the annual conference hosted by Davis College – a Bible centered higher education institution with a desire to equip and raise up leadership in the world based on the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
Davis College president, Dr. Dino Pedrone is the ninth president of the 114 year old institution, and will be the main speaker at the conference. He is the author of more than twenty books and booklets and speaks nationally and internationally to Christian leaders. With over 40 years of pastoral experience, Dr. Pedrone is committed to the development of men and women to serve the Lord.
The conference will be held Tuesday March 11, 2014 on the main campus at the Robb Activity Center, 400 Riverside Drive, Johnson City, New York – with registration from 8am to 10am and sessions beginning at 10am, followed by lunch served on campus at 1:15pm. The cost is $15 which includes a take-home packet of information and resources cited for further study, lunch, and refreshments for breaks. Christian pastors and leaders from all denominations are welcome.
Prospective students are welcome to attend the conference at no charge! Pastors and leaders who bring a prospective student will also receive free admission to the conference. Students will benefit from the conference sessions and then are invited to a special luncheon with our admission team.
All women are invited to attend a luncheon Tuesday, March 11, 2014 from 12:00-2:00 PM at Longfellows Restaurant, Rt. 9P Saratoga. Cost is $13.00 inclusive. Our feature, Debra McGloine, will talk about reusing and recycling to better our lives. Our speaker, Leigh Grimm from Sewell, NJ, will share her story titled “Jesus was Jewish and So Was I”. Karate for Christ begins September 17, every Tuesday and Saturday from 6-8pm when school is in session through May 31, 2014. The class is FREE, but donations are appreciated. Learn the world of martial arts with the guidance of Championship Black Belt instructors, who will teach the fundamentals of Boxing, Kickboxing, Sport Karate and Self-Defense awareness. Each class begins and ends with prayer and uses the teachings of the Bible for mental strength.
Ladies Fit for Christ begins September 17, and runs every Tuesday and Saturday from 6-7:30pm when school is in session through May 31, 2014. The class is FREE for Women of all Ages, using a variety of aerobic activity set to Christian music. The exercise will be modified to meet individual needs and physical capability. Bring sneakers, water bottle, hand towel, exercise mat, and hand weights if wanted, to New Beginnings, 35 DeGarmo Road in the town of Poughkeepsie.
“A biblically based curriculum that teaches people how to handle money God’s ways.” We will have a preview on Tuesday, February 18th at 6 pm. Classes begin March 4th.
St. James the Apostle Church in Carmel, NY is hosting a concert featuring world renowned composer and pianist, Eric Genuis, on March 11th at 7:30PM. The concert will also feature Avery Bright on violin, Autumn Boyle on vocals and James Rosenbloom on cello. A free will offering will be gratefully accepted at the door. Prepare your heart to meet the risen Christ at Easter by attending this spiritually inspired and beautifully arranged classical concert this Lent.
