Every Wednesday during the month of March, all interested parents and students will have an opportunity to come and visit the classrooms and meet the students and teachers at Mountainside Christian Academy. The College Transition Seminar is designed for college-bound high school students and their parents, addressing the transition from high school to college. The seminar will be help students and their parents understand the pressures of college life and equip students to respond with solid and practical tools.
The Foundation for Wellness Professionals(FWP), a national non-profit 501C-3 organization of local volunteer healthcare professionals providing disease prevention workshops and seminars, is pleased to announce that they will be presenting a lecture on “Natural Solutions to Type II Diabetes and Metabolic Syndrome on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at 7:00 at Adriance Memorial Library, 93 Market Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601 (Charwat Room).
The lecture will cover the causes and symptoms of both health problems and educate participants about natural approaches to treating Type II Diabetes and Metabolic Syndrome. The Center for Disease Control calls diabetes “the epidemic of our time” and early prevention and care are critical to both problems.
The Foundation has presented many lectures and health screenings throughout the local area on a variety of topics dealing with natural solutions to health problems. Their lectures and screenings are available at no charge to any organization or group in Dutchess County and can be scheduled by calling Donna at the Foundation for Wellness Professionals, at 845-447-1171.

Girls Ministries and Royal Rangers from Crossroads Assembly of God will resume Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at 7pm. Ages Pre-K (3-4) to High School. These ministries are held every Wednesday from 7pm-8:30pm, September to June. For more information, please call church office, 845-561-1030.

Whether you’re an experienced spinner or a beginner looking for some hints and tips, bring your wheel every 3rd Wednesday from March through October and be prepared to enjoy an evening of open spinning with other fiber enthusiasts. Open Spinning Nights are March 19, April 16, May 21, June 18, July 16, August 20, September 17, and October 15. Class is from 7pm to 8:30pm.
