A 12 week program teaching the basics of nutrition and exercise. There is a one time $39 donation of which $25 is given out in cash prizes to the top 3 weight losers, with $10 donated to a health- related charity. Participants have a personal coach, full body evaluation, weekly prizes, and enjoy the power of a fun group setting.
Save the Date for 5th Annual Adirondack Folk School “Hearts for the Arts” Dinner & Silent Auction Fundraiser
Even though Valentine’s Day will have come and gone, keep your hearts open for the Adirondack Folk School’s 5th annual “Hearts for the Arts” Dinner and Silent Auction on Thursday, March 27th. The event will be held at Mollie’s Mason Jar Restaurant on Park Avenue in Hadley. A social hour with cash bar will kick off at 5 p.m. with a three-course dinner and silent auction to follow at 6 p.m. Auction items include handmade work from our instructors, along with gifts from area businesses such as the Hyde and SPAC and many others.
AFS inspires hands, heart and mind to preserve the Adirondack arts, crafts, and culture with over 275 classes offered each year, along with special events and summer programs free to the public. Reserve your seat for this fun event and help us uphold the rich heritage for which this area is known. Tickets are $30 for members and $35 for not-yet members. Northeast Parent & Child Society a non-for-profit agency is holding a 10 week foster parent mutal selection certification process. These classes are weekly and are provided for persons living in Columbia & Greene Counties interested learning all about fostering with the goal of becoming a certified foster parent. Anyone wishing to participate or needing more information should contact Mickey Kayser, Recruiter at 518-470-7482. Classes will be held at our 455 Main St, Catskill office.
