Comedian Ken Davis

Best-selling author, frequent radio and television guest, and one of the country’s most sought after inspirational and motivational speakers–Ken’s mixture of side-splitting humor and inspiration delights and enriches audiences of all ages. His books have received national critical acclaim, including the “Book of the Year” award and the Gold Medallion Award. The video and audio tapes of his live appearances are in constant demand.
Ken has been the keynote speaker for hundreds of major corporate events. He is a featured speaker for Promise Keepers and a frequent guest on “Focus on the Family.” Ken has made thousands of personal appearances around the world. As president of Dynamic Communications International, he teaches speaking skills to ministry professionals and corporate executives. Ken’s daily radio show, Lighten Up! is heard on over 1500 stations in the United States and around the world.
Ken was born and raised in Minnesota and is a graduate of Oak Hills Christian College. He and his wife, Diane, live in Tennessee and have two daughters. Traci, their oldest, is married to Brian and they have three daughters and a son.
Taryn is married to Scott Fowler of Legacy Five and they have two sons. The entire family is involved in Ken’s ministry, bringing much laughter and liberating truth to people around the world.
Guests of Word of Life, both at The Pines and The Lodge, will receive an e-mail approximately two weeks prior to arrival to claim your tickets. You will be allowed to claim one (1) ticket for each person listed on your reservation. If you have additional friends from the area that may be visiting with you for the day, we ask that you purchase a ticket for them.

The purpose of II Timothy 2:15 School of Biblical studies is to make more available to the body of Christ a quality education at an affordable price. Public invited to resource “Speed-Date”

Meet your park, historic site, museum: Thurs., July 28, Hyde Park

Hyde Park, NY – The public is invited to learn about Hudson Valley parks, historic sites, and museums at the Henry A. Wallace Education and Visitor Center on the grounds of the Franklin D. Roosevelt Home & Presidential Library in Hyde Park from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m., Thursday, July 28. The resource fair is free, but RSVP is requested to info@teachingthehudsonvalley.org.

The Find Your Park, Historic Site, or Museum Expo will feature activities and exhibits from more than a dozen places in the region. The program will be introduced and facilitated by Chris Bowser, an educator with the Hudson River Estuary Program, NYS DEC, and the Hudson River National Estuarine Research Reserve. Locally-made cheese, fresh produce, books, museum memberships, and other items will be raffled off. Participating organizations include:

Columbia County — Martin Van Buren National Historic Site (NHS) and Olana State Historic Site

Dutchess — Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies, Norrie Point Environmental Center, Poughkeepsie Farm Project, Roosevelt-Vanderbilt NHS, Sprout Creek Farm, and Staatsburgh State Historic Site

Orange & Putnam — Clearpool, Hudson Valley Seed, and Washington’s HDQ State Historic Site

Ulster — Hudson River Maritime Museum and Minnewaska State Park Preserve

Region wide — NYS Dept. of Environmental Conservation, NYS Parks’ Connect Kids grant program, and Watershed Agricultural Council Forestry Program

The expo/resource fair is part of a three-day conference, Find Your Park, Historic Site, Museum: Gain a Classroom, aimed at educators and others who work with children and young people. Music Camp

An exciting new Music Camp is being offered this year for the first time for children between 1st grade through 6th. This will be the week of our VBS, June 25-29 from Noon-2pm. (This is immediately following the VBS program and children will be eating lunch together once VBS has ended for the day). Children will learn how to ring chimes from the St. John’s Bell Group Director, Susan Guse. There is no extra charge for this program. Children can call the church office to sign up.
