A 6-lesson study of James meant to provide a taste of Community Bible Study*. Join us for the 2nd and 4th Mondays from January – March 2016. We’ll be meeting at New Beginnings Church in Poughkeepsie NY.
*Community Bible Study (CBS) is an interdenominational Bible study for the community. The organization is headquartered in Colorado. There are CBS classes around the world, but none right here in the Hudson Valley. We are praying to start a class here, but first need leaders and people interested in joining our class. “Perspectives” is a 15 week class being offered at Center Point this January in Glens Falls, NY. Perspectives is a nonprofit organization the seeks to equip today’s believers will the tools they need to be actively engaged in spreading the gospel. Volunteers serve as tax counselors, tax site greeters, assist with marketing or administrative support. Free training is provided, learn a new skill while helping your neighbors in Dutchess and Orange Counties.

We will have a display of Fine Arts activities including Singing, Poetry, Mime, and Skits, and our students art work will be displayed throughout the building.
In addition we will have an Open House with information and tours of our facilities.

The Beacon Light Tabernacle Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Poughkeepsie Seventh-Day Adventist Church and St. John’s Lutheran Church are joining together to offer a Black History Event on February 6 (snow date March 5) at 5:30pm in the Fellowship Hall. Historical characters will be describing themselves and speaking about their lives as the audience matches names with descriptions. There is no reservations needed and no cost, but a free-will offering will be taken. Please join us in this collaborative event acknowledging the accomplishments of many historic people who fought for the rights of African Americans.

Join us for an informative and interactive afternoon. Emergency Specialists from the Greater New York Chapter of the American Red Cross will be facilitating this workshop. Receive hands on knowledge on how to prepare for various emergencies and disastrous conditions. Following the workshop there will be a RED & WHITE social/game night to which all are invited to attend.
Delaware Valley High School, 256 US-6, Milford, PA, is hosting the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) District Chorus Concert. $5 admission to benefit continued music education through the PMEA. 210 students from 55 schools will be performing. Concessions will be available before and during the concert to benefit the DV Music Dept. Booster Club.
