Bob Gillespie, Answers in Genesis Conference

Conference Speaker, Bob Gillespie.
Bob was raised in a pastor’s home where he received the Lord as his Savior when he was eight years old. He knew from then on that God wanted him to do something for Him. Bob graduated from Cedarville University, where he met his wife Lois, and then finished his Master of Ministry degree at Baptist Bible Seminary in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania. The Gillespies taught in Christian schools in Ohio for 14 years and then served two terms at MK schools in West Africa.

Bob’s goal today is to teach the teachers (i.e., parents, Sunday school teachers, youth directors, and pastors) the same things he has taught his students in schools for many years: to uphold the authority of God’s Word beginning in Genesis 1, to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ, and to confront the forces of secular humanism that are taking over our culture.

Selah in Concert

Since the release of their 1999 Dove Award-winning Curb Records debut, Be Still My Soul, Selah has successfully introduced hymns and classic songs of the faith to a new generation of listeners using beautiful harmonies and “modern” musical sounds. When founding member Nicol Smith Sponberg left in 2004 to pursue a solo career, she was replaced by Melodie Crittenden. A year later, Amy Perry took the place of Crittenden.
Their music, which features the passionate and impressive vocals and musical talent of Allan Hall, Todd Smith and Amy Perry, has gotten the group a total of six Dove Awards, two consecutive Dove Award nominations for Group of the Year, two #1 hits and five Top 10 singles, as well as repeat appearances on such respected television programs as “The 700 Club” and the “Hour of Power,” and even a chance to perform on the stage of New York’s legendary Carnegie Hall, among numerous other career highlights.
Guests of Word of Life, both at The Pines and The Lodge, will receive an e-mail approximately two weeks prior to arrival to claim your tickets. You will be allowed to claim one (1) ticket for each person listed on your reservation. If you have additional friends from the area that may be visiting with you for the day, we ask that you purchase a ticket for them.
Doors will open at 6:30 and the performance will begin at approximately 7:30.
