National Organization That Brings Churches Together to Help People In Need Coming To Kingston, NY… Every day millions of people in need across our country cry out for help. Those pleas can come from unemployed single parents, children, and lonely senior adults. Many of those people in need live in our own community — Love INC, a national nonprofit organization that unites churches to meet the needs of our neighbors who lack resources, is developing an affiliate in Ulster County. On Friday, May 17, the board for Catskill Mountain Love INC affiliate will hold training about how churches in our community can work together to help those in need. The training will be held at Grace Community E.F. Church, 160 Seremma Ct., Lake Katrine, NY at 6:30 p.m.
Love In the Name of Christ, Love INC, works with a network of community resources—from social service agencies and church outreach ministries, to a talent bank of the gifts and skills of church members of all Christian denominations to provide for the needs of neighbors in the community.
We are excited to network with other churches and organizations to meet needs that aren’t currently being met and cease duplicating programs that force clients to bounce from one place to another.
Founded in 1977, Love In the Name of Christ (Love INC) brings churches together across denominational lines to help the poor with immediate needs such as food and clothing, to longer-term responses such as transitional housing programs, health care, and life skills training. Love INC meets more than one million needs each year through more than 155 affiliates in 30 states, representing a network of more than 9,000 churches, 7,000 community-based organizations, and 300,000 volunteers working to serve their neighbors in need.
