Branden’s SafeHouse and Charlie’s Angels Unisex Salon are hosting The Military Youth Spa Day is designed to uplift youth whose parents are currently deployed.
Through this event, we aim to provide a day of relaxation, pampering, and family connection,
ensuring these young people feel supported and appreciated. The event will feature services from
licensed professionals, including facials, haircuts, styles, manicures, pedicures, and face painting. In addition to these services, we will be providing food, drinks, and snacks for the youth participants.
Each participant will also receive a self-care package for themselves and their deployed parent, along
with a board game to enjoy during family game night.
Branden’s SafeHouse is a 501C3 in memory of Branden McKinnon. Branden was a Bright and Brilliant 12-year-old who lost his opportunity to a promising future by a loaded service weapon left unsecured in his home on May 19, 2021. Our mission is to empower the next generation with confidence, community, and the ability to follow their dreams. By providing them with safety, time, love, attention, and resources. We honor Branden’s legacy by providing a safe, supportive environment for youth to feel understood, cared for, and loved.
The Military Youth Day Spa is an extension of our previous Youth Day Spa events, which included youth from group homes, foster care, and those with incarcerated parents. Inspired by Branden’s love for facials, we created this program to pamper and support youth who are facing challenges, especially those who are missing a parent from their household. Branden’s parents are military veterans, making this a relatable experience.
In addition to seeking Military Youth to participate, we need volunteers, donations, and sponsors. your contribution would directly impact the success of this event.
