I am the Program Director for The Sound of Life. I grew up in North Carolina with Andy Griffith, sweet tea, and barbecue. Most people only gave me six months in Yankee territory, but God had other plans. I am a testament of God’s incredible grace: a person who moved here out of purely selfish motives who is being used for His glory on a daily basis. God gave me a love for radio, which I try to use daily to impact lives for His glory. I am married to Debbie, and we have three grown children. Contact me at [email protected].

It is so fun being able to connect with you on the Sound of Life! Every day I feel like you and I are having coffee, talking about all the good, bad and crazy stuff we have to go through. In case you’re curious, I’m married to Ken, who is hilarious and he makes me laugh every day. We have three daughters, Emily, Molly and Marissa, who are just starting their grown-up lives and are “adulting” quite well. I love eating healthy and working out, although I also love eating cheese and sitting on the couch watching HGTV, so there’s that constant tension. I love wrestling with faith issues and shopping for cute clothes; which I realize doesn’t sound like they go together but…we’re all complicated.

I am a toast-obsessed nerd who, when in high school, was no less than PRESIDENT of the Illinois Student Librarians Association. I was also All-Conference in “Scholastic Bowl” and lettered in basketball and football (both for keeping statistics) and was president of my own Stamp Collection Club, which consisted of myself. I’m also an “Aspie” – diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome as an adult. And I’m happy about it. I work full-time for CURE International, a network of hospitals serving the poor around the world. I’m also a radio host. In my spare time, I walk my three-legged dog, Nigel, while looking inappropriately intense. I can’t help it. I am also a husband and dad.

I am a Christ-follower and single (widowed) mom of three who loves to share stories about God and how He has delivered me beyond struggle and loss to places of joy and laughter. I love to cook but am not great at it. I also love to hike and bike, as long as it doesn’t involve losing my breath or any sort of pain. I have a super-sized 120-pound Labrador named Andy who collects bones, steals my dinner, and tags along for some pretty cool adventures.

I have been married to Michael for 24 years, and we have two children, Nick and Marian, and three fat cats. My hobbies include reading, watching football, and spending time with my family.
